  8. New Year's Eve? Well, I used to go out and have fun...but with two toddlers, it ends up being just "another" night ...where I hope to get some sleep and not be woken by the pitter patter of little feet! lol (maybe when they get a bit older maybe we will have some fun traditions!=)

  12. For the past few years, we have celebrated with my partner in crime (1st grade teaching buddy) and her awesome family ... and whoever else shows up. We attempt to play all kinds of games and there are usually a bunch of Kodak moments. Great times and always precious memories!!

  15. I am from a small country town. The tradition in Cherryville is New Year shooters. You should go look them up online and or youtube.com. My hubby doesn't do this, but my dad used to. It is a tradition that dates back years and years ago. We don't follow them anymore but I did have some good ole times years ago!

  17. I wish I had a NYE tradition! We are still up in the air about what to do. Last year we were in the middle of the ocean on a cruise so I think that'll be a little hard to beat! ; ) Also, I'm from Missouri!

  20. I just downloaded the Penguin math freebie and it is fabulous! My students love that game using dice, and I was looking for a new way to play it that goes along with the winter theme and that is PERFECT! Thank you so much for sharing!

I am from a small town in Texas and we stay up late and welcome in a new year quietly~We eat black eyed peas and rice on New Years Day for good luck, my mom always called it Hoppin John. We call everyone we love and say, "Happy New Years!" that's about it other than watching the parade and football and enjoying a day off.

  32. A new year's tradition my family and I do is when the countdown starts we eat a grape for each second.... starting at 12... It is pretty funny seeing everyone squish grapes in their mouths! lol :)

  39. One of our New Years Eve traditions is to run a 5k race at the university called "Run Through Time". It starts at 6:00 and afterwards we usually go out for dinner.

  69. We don't really have any New Year's traditions, we always stay up to see the new year in but we've never had a set way of doing so...most of the time we have a get together at our church, this year we spent the evening playing games and watching movies as a family!
