Monster Art and ABC Book Freebie

This is the easiest art lesson!!! I found this adorable monster art lesson here at Art Projects For Kids! (She is one of my "go to" sites for great ideas for art lessons.)

My 3rd graders had so much fun making it their own. I would definitely suggest having them retrace over the lines with a black sharpie AFTER the paint dries rather than before painting, as it really made the lines more defined and the colors "pop"!

We used Crayola watercolors but I had to teach them not to use as much water to make the color brighter. I usually use Prang watercolors because you don't need to use as much paint to make the color bright.

 We tied this to a creative writing ABC book:

Christmas Activity Book Freebie and Other Ideas to Fill Your Week!

Are you looking for some fun activities to use this week with your students? Here are a few activities I am using!

A fun activity packet I use at my Christmas Party is my Christmas BINGO and Activities packet! It includes a unique BINGO card for THIRTY, yes, 30 players. Your whole class can play at the same time with no duplicate cards! {Love that!!}

Also, included in this packet are activities for a cake walk and concentration! I use all three of these games during my Christmas party and my students love them!

If you are looking for something academic here is a fun informational book and writing packet on reindeer!

My Christmas Activity Book is a freebie that will keep your little ones busy! It's great for a fast finisher or an activity during a class party day.

Have a happy, happy, happy week and enjoy your little ones!

*If you have read all the way to this point and would like a free copy of the reindeer information packet, please leave your email below. I will give it out to the first five people. :)

Freebie for your week!

Is it me, or are the weekends going by faster and faster? I spoiled myself yesterday and my husband and I grabbed some yummy sandwiches at Kneaders (LOVE THAT PLACE!) and headed up the canyon. We found this quiet stream and sat down in the sunshine and enjoyed a quiet and peaceful lunch out in nature. Lately, my soul has been craving to be in nature. I think it has to do with how hectic my weekly life has been. It was so nice just to stare at the mountain stream and watch the leaves blow down from the trees. The sunlight was sparkling off the water making it look like the stream was full of diamonds.
I wish I had taken photos of it...I do have a photo of our little ride up to the Uintah Mountains a couple of weeks ago...it embodies the same peaceful feeling of yesterday.

The highlight of my weekend was also receiving my new Macbook Pro cover! One of our dear teachers at my school had this cute blue-green cover and she sent us all the link if we wanted to buy one. After I saw the price, Only $12.99 at Amazon, I was like "Heck yah!"

I purchased the hot pink one so I can find it in my room!! (This isn't the greatest photo!)

If you want to check out all the beautiful colors look here:
You can order yours by clicking the link below!

Here's a little freebie for you to start out your week!

I'll leave with one of my favorite quotes of all time....

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power,
the world will know peace."

I am a true believer in positive affirmations! I use them with my students and I say them to myself throughout the day when my stress levels start to climb.
Here are some positive affirmations to help you start your work week off right:

I am capable, competent and smart enough.
I am a success! I am worthy and deserving of success.
I am deserving of love, respect, honor and kindness!
There is only Love! If its not Love, I let it go.

Winner! Winner!! & *Friday Freebie

And our winner is.....

Thank you to everyone who followed our stores and who entered our give away! We all appreciate you so much! Sheila Felder, we will be emailing you and sending you our packets soon! Congratulations!!

1. Seriously, Mr. Groundhog....an early Spring?? I was soooo hoping this would be true...but alas, in the middle of reading groups this morning I was interrupted by a very excited little boy telling me to look out the window because it was SNOWING!! Ugh!!  I know it is difficult to see because the photo is a bit blurry,  but it was really coming down! {Oh, please warm up soon!}

2. I'm working on updating my Plant and Flower Packet and it is almost done! I'll post about it as soon as it is updated on TpT! In the meantime, here's a little Missing Subtrahend Freebie for you!

3. Look what came in the mail today!! I love this magazine! My mom gives me a gift subscription every year for Christmas...or my birthday...I can't remember...But it always has useful information. I love the article on easy tips for cleaning when you just feel like you don't have time! Seriously, teaching full-time, blogging, creating for TpT....who has time for cleaning???  By the time the weekend rolls around I'm lucky to have any energy left to stare at myself in the mirror.

But hey, suggest a few awesome cleaning products and you have peaked my interest! Nothing like when someone gives you a good cleaning product recommendation! {I seriously sound more pathetic than I thought....}

4. Only 5 more days until Spring Break!!! To celebrate the {hopeful} coming of Spring, I did my art lesson on Georgia O'Keefe today. Painting LARGE on a big piece of paper is difficult for first graders. Even with modeling and step-by-step instruction, my cuties still wanted to make their flowers from a "normal" perspective....or even smaller...instead of the perspective of a bumble bee or bird landing on a flower. Look at their darling work! It sure has brightened up our hallway!

5. My darlin' step-children are on their way here from California even as I type! With no children of my own, {and after a very long 44 years of waiting to find my sweetheart and best friend to marry} I feel oh-so-very-blessed to have these four Luv Bugs in my world! We have a wonderful relationship and I miss them so much when they aren't here! So, here's a photo of my cuties! I'm so proud of each one of them!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
